SANGHA

'SAT' means Truth or Existence. 'SATSANG' means at its highest level, constant contemplation of 'Sat'. That is living in constant contemplation of the 'SELF' or 'GOD'. This is the state achieved by Saints, their whole life immersed in 'Sat'.

'SATSANG' also means the company of, and interaction with, Spiritual Masters or Saints. This has lead to 'SATSANG MEETINGS' as a device for a Master to share himself in 'SATSANG' with more than a few people.

A 'SANGHA' is the community of spiritual seekers that organically grows up around an enlightened Spiritual Master or Saint.

There is no pre-requisite for the attainment of Truth. There are no practises or techniques that will bring Truth. The attainment of a clear and quiet mind (SATTVIC) free of past conditionings (VASANAS) will bring us close to Truth. Satsang in the company of a Spiritual Master is the strongest reminder to remain in contemplation of 'SAT'. To be part of the 'SANGHA' of a Spiritual Master is to have a continuous reminder to remain in 'SATSANG'; in the constant contemplation of 'SAT'.

OPEN SKY (WORLDWIDE SANGHA)

This is a community of fellow travellers who choose to be part of the Sangha around John David and to focus their lives on Truth - knowledge - Love (Sat-Chit-Ananda).

Being a member of Open Sky will provide you with information on the whereabouts of John David and the latest schedule of Satsang Meetings and Satsang Retreats. There are regular Newsletters and there is an Open Sky Chatroom on www.johndavid.org where Sangha members can join for Satsang together. A directory of email addresses is available on request so that members can stay in touch with other members of the Sangha. There is a Message Board on www.johndavid.org for the posting of messages between members of the Sangha.

As a member of the Open Sky, you may choose to take the OPEN SKY INITIATION and/or be part of the Friends of John David which lives and travels with John David.

OPEN SKY INITIATION

Sangha Members who have spent quality time with John David, may choose to Initiate themselves in a simple ceremony. The Open Sky Initiation, in the presence of John David, makes the pledge "The Most Important Focus Of My Life is Truth-Freedom-Love (Sat-Chit-Ananda))."

FRIENDS OF JOHN DAVID - INNER SANGHA

Those Open Sky Members who have chosen to live and travel with John David and/or who have a personal commitment to the work of Open Sky. The work of Open Sky is to meet your own divinity in the context of working to support John David's teaching.

The Inner Sangha is a dynamic experience in Living Satsang. Living Truth, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Each member is a mirror reflecting your bad habits, beliefs and conditionings. There is no leader, nor rules, its fresh and spontaneous happenings, in the moment. Work being creativity, and expression of the Self and a sharing of Divine Leela (play) with the other members of the Inner Sangha. The Inner Sangha will travel along with John David and have regular and intimate Satsang with him.

The Inner Sangha is intensely alive and no matter what happens there is great support and love for everyone. Are you ready to live this? If so, come and join John David wherever he is travelling and be part of a rare community.

SANGHA WORK

For the Satsang Meetings and Satsang Retreats to take place required people willing to give something of themselves in organising and coordinating such events. Publication of Satsang Video, Audio and Written Publications provides ample opportunity for Sangha Members to offer their energy by way of monetary donation or by donating their time.
